So after many many weeks at 180.2 or .4 or .6 I am now officially 179.6!
So long 180’s I hope to never see you again.
Weight loss for me has always been some kind of slow waltz where it’s three steps in the right direction with two steps in the wrong and sometimes a pause in the music where there is no movement at all. I am feeling good like I am on a roll, and the even better news is that my husband D has started counting his calories too. Which means I have to be even more accountable, you know because it’s like a competion of sorts.
Also I am redidcating this blog to weight loss and less parenting stuff as I have started a new blog at http://motheringmyway.com. Come on over, I don’t have much up yet but I am planning daily updates for both of these blogs over the next couple of months.

So a couple of weeks ago we had Xander’s 6 month baby pictures done and we decided that the previous photographer was just way to expensive for what we got in return. Although her pictures were great and she was very patient with us at newborn photos.
We found a new photographer, Lesley Mason of New Life Photography. I can not say enough wonderful things about Lesley firstly she got us in 3 weeks after having a baby ( I know crazy right, at 3 weeks post partum I was still on the couch), she was very laid back and had great photo session ideas, and the pictures are beautiful. Below is a sampling of her pictures of Xander.

So I weighed in today, which is a bit early for me so I might update my weight tomorrow and I was 181.2 and in my defense I had popcorn last night before bed which makes me retain water.
As for the challenge this last week:
- I did make it to the gym on Friday and Monday as well as being active the rest of the weekend.
- But I didn’t reach my second goal of continuing to eat healthy, I had three slices of key lime pie this weekend and counteless other goodies
But for this week I’m am determined to hit that 179!!! So that is the goal this week 179.
Also on a side note; D and I plus the big family are contemplating going to St. Thomas for my MIL birthday in May that is 10 months from now if I were to loose 3lbs a month for those 10 months that would be 30lbs total putting me at 149 for the trip. So this is a good long term goal to keep in mind when I’m kickin ass and takin names this week in the weigh loss depatment.
On the host blog for Body after Baby, Mama Notes‘ was talking about transforming our bodies and that has always been something I believe in fully. That a strong fitness routine and a low salt content can make 180 look like 160 and 160 look like 145. Since joining the gym in April I have been going three times a week and I should start doing measurments instead of just weights now that I’m in the swing of things. It’s really amazing how you can transform your body with out losing a single pound by lifting weights. Over on the blog Domestic Dork, Holly is going to be doing this 10 minute work out and I think this would be a great circuit for me on the days I’m not able to go to the gym.

First I am going to apologize for missing a few weeks in there. My Uncle Mark passed away and I had to make a emergency trip with my cousin Christina and Xander to Traver City for the funeral. It was one of the most stressful and sad things that I have ever done. My Uncle Mark was my father’s younger brother and it has brought to light the idea that really it could have been my father which would be one of the worse things that could happen in my life.
So needless to say for week 6 I did great I lost 1lb being gone and stressed out all weekend and then during week 7 I kept it going with really watching closly what I have been eating and I have discontinued the use of domperidone for increase milk supply because it wasn’t helping me that much and I lost another pount. So I am now down to 180.4!!!
This is my favorite time next week I am going to say good bye to the 180’s all together and I will be in the 170’s woo hoo!!!
I signed up for a pilaties class on Wednesday night and for some reason I just can’t bring myself to go to it. The first two weeks of the 5 week class I missed because of the funeral and the next because I threw my back out. But last night I was all ready to go and I was clean and dressed getting ready to feed the baby and I just couldn’t bring myself to go. I was 3 weeks into a class I had never been to and didn’t want to just show up where I didn’t know any of the moves I guess, but it’s that shy thing springing up again. So strange I had never been shy until I was in high school then I have been trying to recover from it ever since.
- So for this week I want to go to the gym on Friday and Monday
- Continue to eat healily and hopefully hit 179 next week, or less!
This week on the Mama Notes, the hostess of Body After Baby Challenge, she talks about accidental exercise and I am a big fan of this. She suggest stuff like while standing in front of the stove cooking – do calf raises, while you baby is playing on the floor do sit ups next to him and park further away at the grocery store plus lots more you can catch the rest of the article here.
