Pregnancy Weight Gain

My dear friend Nicole asked me the other day, “so are you enjoying being able to eat more?”

This started me thinking, I have gained a TON of weight so far and for only being 23 weeks pregnant I have a lot of weight gain ahead of me.  I am going to really have to strap down on my diet and what I consume every day.

I started this the day I found out I was pregnant at 157 pounds, today I got on the scale and I weighed 178 pounds.  That is how much some people should gain in the whole pregnancy I am hardly half way there.   If I continue to gain at this pace I will gain a total of almost 40lbs!  That is crazy amount of weight and it’s going to be so hard to loose after ward.  My mom told me she never lost any weight after having me!  I think about weight all the time, but I am hungry like all the time.  I eat like 6 times a day.  And the only time I eat things I shouldn’t is my occasional ice cream at night and it’s light ice cream.  I am eating lots of fruit and vegetables whole grains and protein.  It just makes me want to cry.

Lost half a pound

I am down well it’s not even really a half pound but from 156.4 to 156.2 so it’s really down .2 pounds but this week I really need the half pound statement.  I am still working it and that is really all that matters I’m not up I’m down!

I recently have been having a hard time keeping up my moral on a diet and I might lose weight slowly but the slower you take it off the less likely you are to put it back on right. I don’t know about that, this will be the second time I have taken this weight off slowly. So here is where I’m at so far.

Diet and Fitness updates!

I got to talk to Emily last night(my best friend since I was 19). When I speak with her it’s like therapy to me, we are almost one in the same we have many of the same problems especially with food and family. So I expressed my frustration in my weight loss progress, the only saving grace for me is that I can go on like this for years (dieting and not going anywhere). But she brought something to light that I often forget.

I am impatient, I want to get married and I was just divorced two years ago. I want to have babies and I am only 25, and most of all right now I want to weigh 120 lbs. Well like the rest of my life I need to learn that things will happen and I will loose the weight if I stick to it and just keep on living. Not just living but living my life to the fullest and that means eating healthy whole foods and exercising. So instead of being impatient I need to take stock of what has happened in my life and look at the whole picture. This week I am down a pound from my gain last week. 156.4, so that means since I started this journey in October I am down 7 pounds. woot!

Exercise log for yesterday, i’m still feeling kind of fatigued so I didn’t get in a full hour but any progress is some progress and I did run for 15 minutes in a row yesterday. My heals have been hurting me latley I think this is because I have not been properly fitted for running shoes and I have just started to put some real miles in.

I am going to the running store on Sunday with my mom to be properly fitted for some kick ass running shoes!

Food Logs and Challenge update

So today I will be sharing my food log from yesterday, I normally eat a little healthier than this. However we have had no money to go grocery shopping, until Monday when we get paid. I was feeling kind of nauseous yesterday and didn’t work out, I am planning on running on the treadmill for an hour after work today. I’m having a hard time.

So the general idea behind dieting and exercising for me anyway is to loose weight. I however am a total failure at this and I have no idea why. Currently I am counting calories and I am using this really cool website called Calorie Count Plus to track my calorie counting and add my exercise. When you enter you personal information about yourself into the forms it gives you two numbers one is Burn Meter number: 1800 and the Eat Meter: 1400. Then you are supposed to add your exercise into your burn meter number and make sure you have a difference of at least 500 calories to loose 1lb a month.

Now yes sometimes I do over indulge but not enough to not loose any weight over the last three months that I have been doing this. I just don’t know what to do or were to go. Like last week with the exception of two days I ate at or just below my calories. And I didn’t work out as many times as I would like to last week but I did work out for at least 4 hours. I track all of the food I eat, write everything down and I drink at least 64oz of water a day. Last week I gained 2 pounds.

There is no explanation for this, I almost feel like just quiting.

So D and I weigh in on Friday mornings, this week I have been kickin butt (besides the one really bad day) and I got on the scale and it read 155.2! This means I am down a pound from last week! WOOT!

30 Day Challenge, Going Great!

This week my 30 day challenge is going great so far!

  • Monday I ended up with 1,490 Calories eaten, and burned 292 at Pilates
  • Tuesday I ended up eating 1,500 Calories
  • Wensday I ended up eating 1,710 Calories, and burned doing 378 bootcamp
  • Thursday I ended today eating 1,700 Calories, and burned 372 running outside

My legs are killing me after two days in a row of serious lower body work out, I think tomorrow I will pick up the 10lbs weights and do some serious upper body workout.  Sunday I have a scheduled run with my mom, 5 Miles in a local metro park.

D and I’s anniversary was on Wensday and we will be celebrating with some seriously expensive food and fun times on Saturday.  It’s going to be a good time so I’m going to choose something very special on the menu and eat it slowly and enjoy it.  On Sunday will be the 5 mile run but also Chinese buffet which is not as bad as it sounds ( I really don’t like Chinese food) however our Chinese buffet has all you can eat sushi!

30 Day Challenge, Day 2!

I did it, my Calorie total for day number 2 was 1,399! This is a huge accomplishment for me yesterday because so many things came up. Including:

- High Stress Day
- I attended a Great Piston’s Game
- I did not exercise

Things like these are going to come up all the time and I just need to deal with it. Yesterday I did.
