So we had a great appointment again with our midwife Stacia the baby is so active its crazy and she wants to see me again in two weeks since he is moving around so much. We want to make sure he is head down, or start working on getting him head down. Overall I feel really good. Being pregnant and not working is a whole new experience since last time I was working full time until the day before I had Xander. I have been nesting like crazy and cooking tons of food. Our tomatoes are growing crazy I am getting about 15lbs a week. So I have been making tomato soup, tomato bread and tomato sauce.

As far as diet and exercise goes I have been not officially exercising and I really should be but it’s been so hot out that I can’t really walk outside and since I am not working Xander is with me all the time so I can’t go to the gym. I am doing squats and kegels by the hundreds and I’m sure once it cools off a little bit I’ll start walking more.

I am up 30lbs right now which is really all I wanted to gain during this whole pregnancy, actually I only wanted to gain 15-20lbs but since I blew right through that 30 is my next goal. I have to say this is still not to bad considering that by this time I had gained in the 45lbs plus range last time round. I really need to stick to eating healthy food and not be indulging, which is hard when I am baking three or four time a week.

As far as D goes, he is back on south beach and it’s been hard for him to do phase 1 when i am not doing the diet with him. I am working on making good food choices for everyone and cooking good food for him but this is really the first time he has had to diet on his own. He hadn’t gained that much while I have been pregnant about 8lbs but he is almost back to where he was when i first found out. I don’t think after the baby comes I’ll be doing phase 1 but I’ll probably do a modified phase 1 when the new baby is about 6 weeks old to kick start the weight loss. I am also hoping that tandem nursing Xander and Topher will help me really burn the big calories and loose the weight. My goal for the year after the baby is to get to the 130′s, I’ll probably get to around 200-205 when I’m all done with the pregnancy.

Oh and we are naming the baby Topher Grant.

It is the third trimester and I am so excited. Besides getting so sick last weekend to the point I had to be admitted to the hospital for IV fluids and Zofran I am feeling much better and this week I am only being slowed down by a head cold. I know its the middle of summer and I shouldn’t be getting sick at all but man am I.

So here are my updates that are pregnancy related:

I’m 27 weeks pregnant and I have gained 20lbs, this is great because I had gained 35lbs at this same point last pregnancy

We have decided to have a homebirth at my moms house and we have a great midwife

I received my hypnobabies in the mail the other day and I have started listening to the positive pregnancy affirmation daily

I am got my heartburn under control with mega enzymes and papaya enzymes

My hips are not barley hurting at all as long as I continue to work out

I am still going to the gym 4-5 days a week

Here are some non pregnancy related updates

I have been laid off of both of my jobs, within 8 days of each other

Someone put an offer in on our house ($15,000), we are short selling so it could take until the end of September to get a response from the bank but we are hoping for any day so we can move before the baby comes

That is way way to long since my last post. I am now 25 weeks pregnant and I still feel pretty good. It’s been incredibly hot here for the last several weeks and when I walk around outside in the humid heat I feel like I am wading through a pool. I feel a lot heavier in this heat than I think I am and I have really started to show a lot.

So here are my 25 week updates

I am weighing in at 184 185, last time I checked which is up 18lbs since the start. It’s a little high for where I wanted to be but still down from where I was at this same time last pregnancy.

I joined the local gym and have started working out 4 days a week on the elliptical machine so hopefully the weight gain will slow down, I am also limiting desert type food to once a day

I recently have been laid off not just once but twice, I had two jobs, with in 8 days of each other so now I am on extended maternity leave/unemployment

We have an offer on our house $15,000 so we are waiting to hear back from the bank right now it’s been 24 days since we submitted the offer and our realtor doesn’t expect us to hear anything for at least 30 we hope

If we do hear back within the 30-45 day range with good news we are probably going to move before the baby comes

I have my car for sale and we traded in our Vue and just got a Ford Flex and I love it!

I am going to be starting Hypnobabies soon and I am very excited about it since it seems like we are in so much limbo I don’t have anything to do to prepare for this little one

See this is what happens when you go to long without blogging you have a long list of updates.

I’m 20 weeks this week and that means I am half way there. I am so excited about the half way point not that I don’t like being pregnant, it really doesn’t bother me, it’s just that I am half way to seeing my new little man!

Here is what’s happening at 20 weeks:

I am feeling movement a lot, I think by the end of the week you will be able to feel it from the outside

I weight 177lbs, that is up 10lbs from the start of this pregnancy

I am walking 5 days a week and I am going to start doing yoga too

Heartburn is kicking in and so are food cravings, which I need to ignore

I am sleeping with extra pillows and my hips hurt when I wake up

Here is what I look like at 20 weeks pregnant with baby boy #2

On a not pregnant note, my life has been crazy the last few months and I am hoping for a few small changes to make it all the better very soon. We have our house on the market and we have been having lots of people look at it but no one has put in an offer yet, so I am hoping that happens soon. Also do to being overwhelmed and just not capable we have given up all of our three dogs. I am very sad over this whole thing but in the long run it will mean a lot less stress on me and the kids and D.

So our dogs are all gone now. I miss them so much it feels like my heart will just fall out of my chest at any moment. The only way I could describe my relationship with the dogs was loud and I now find my home to be so quiet. No insentient barking, I’m not yelling every 5 minutes to not eat something or get off of the window or watch the baby. They where good dogs, and they could have been so much better with care givers who did what was right for them.

After a 6 month search for new homes they are all gone and I have cried for two days now because of it.

So it’s been a very long time since I updated. Although I’m going to aim for updating more often because I am finding that reading the archives from Xander’s pregnancy is really helping me along with this one. So for the pregnancy updates.

We had our mid pregnancy ultrasound, and it’s another boy!

Weight gain total is 9lbs at 18 weeks, this is depressing I was hoping to be in my third trimester before reaching a 9lb gain

Everything else is great

So the weight gain. HUH, we went on a week long vacation to Cabo and I only gained 1.5lbs while we where away which wasn’t bad at all right along where I was expecting. But since we have been back the scale keeps going up and up and I’m really not eating that much food and for the most part nothing bad. I am not exercising like I should but I have been cleaning the house way more because we put it on the market and playing with Xander like non stop. I have been keeping a food journal for the most part. I just want the gain to stop for a little while its like I’m gaining a pound a day.

When I got back on May 23rd I was 172.4 this morning I was 176 I can’t believe it that is a gain of 4lbs in like two weeks. This is the problem I had when I was pregnant with Xander and I just can not bring myself to gain 60lbs again that is just too much weight to gain.

Any suggestions would be great!

So to start off I’m a little off on my weekly goals and have gained a little weight lately. Currently I am weighing in at 170 which I am hoping to maintain until the end of this trimester. That’s a long way off by the way since I just started the second trimester. Below is a picture of me at 13 weeks 4 days. I am starting to get a little bump, but I don’t fit into any of my clothes and I hate wearing pants! For some reason I don’t remember it being this way last time. Now if I wear regular pants after like two hours I feel like I am going to pass out.

I am back to writing down everything I eat which I find is a real help with keeping me accountable for what I am putting in my mouth and curbing cravings. I have to remember that I don’t need a bunch of carbs and I do need lots of vegetables and protein. So I am trying to focus on eating mostly vegies, fruit and protein and only having a carb at two of my meals and avoiding carbs when snacking. I know that most don’t follow this type of plan but I think I mean a different thing than most when I talk about avoiding carbs.

So a sample day is like this.

Breakfast: 2 eggs, whole wheat English muffin

Snack: carrots and hummus

Lunch: lamb and salad

Snack: Kind Bar, 1/2 apple

Dinner: Steak and Shrimp, green beans, corn bread

Snack: small ice cream

So as with most in the first trimester eating has been a problem for me. Some nausea some food aversion but now it seems to have passed! So here is a picture of my lunch today. Big green salad with ranch dressing, low fat cottage cheese, carrots with ranch to dip, and those little white beauties on the left are pickled garlic mmmm one of my favorite pregnancy foods.

So I have made a chart of how much weight I would like to gain week by week. So far I am doing pretty good although I am still up a little bit from Easter but I’m sure it will go back down. So below is my breakdown for weight gain this pregnancy.

Weeks 8-16 = 1lb gain, 167lbs

Weeks 17-22 = 2lb gain, 169

Weeks 23-24 = 1lb gain, 170

Weeks 25-40+ = 1lb gain per week ending pregnancy at 186

What do you think, I also planned this out with my first pregnancy and once the second trimester hit I stopped weighing myself and just gave in to eating whatever I wanted to. I am really dedicated to not gaining a bunch of weight this time and to really being conscious all the way through about what I am eating.

Goals for last week:

Track food everyday- actual 2 days

Drink 64oz water per day- yes

Exercise 3x this week, running- swam once

Weight next week 166- current weight 165.8

Overall I didn’t do to well last week on my goals. I kind of feel like I am slipping already and I need to really stay focused on each week and following the plan. I have a lot of obstacles coming up over this pregnancy including two vacations so I will have to be extra vigilant with both of those, I can easily gain 5+ pounds on a week vacation not being pregnant. It’s really important to me that I stay within my goals this time around and don’t set myself farther behind where I already am.

On a side note last pregnancy I posted pictures of my pregnant belly starting at like 6 weeks and going until I was 41 weeks. I might give one or two pictures when I do get a belly and not just looking extra fat but I’m not feeling all that confident in my abdominal area.
