Fat and Normal

So I went to my first official midwife appointment today and it was great! Jess my midwife and I chatted about my family history and I asked her some questions about medications I can take. Then the best part happened, we listened to the heart beat via doppler. It was so great to hear my little baby doing so well! It took her a minute to find it and I held my breath to hear that little swoosh swoosh but it was there and it was strong. She says that I’m doing good and to keep exercising.

I have to admit I was feeling a little freaked out, I spend a good amount of time at night reading the mothering.com forums and I love it there. But another mother in my due date club left the other day turns out at her 11 week appointment they could find the heart beat so they had sent her down to ultrasound and the baby was no longer. However when we got to the part where we got to listen to the heart beat it was there and it was strong so all my nervousness dissipated. Overall it was a good appointment!
